Four UCM Students Awarded MLK Freedom Scholarships

KMOS-TV Announces Feb. 6 Change to Daytime Schedule, Jan. 26 Preview of 'Work It Out Wombats!' Kids Program
On Monday, Feb. 6 KMOS-TV, the 欧美视频鈥檚 public television station, will move the beginning of its daytime 鈥榞eneral audience鈥� programming from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This will allow PBS Kids programming to run concurrently from 5 a.m. through 1 p.m., creating a better viewing experience for young viewers. In addition, KMOS will premiere a new series for children ages 3-6 designed to introduce kids to thinking concepts meant to help in solving everyday problems, and to express themselves clearly. 鈥淲ork It Out Wombats!鈥� will air weekdays at 9:30 a.m. beginning Feb. 6.

Governor Parson Proposes 7 Percent Increase in UCM's Core Funding
In his State of the State address presented from the Missouri House Chamber in Jefferson City today, Gov. Mike Parson announced his proposal for a balanced fiscal year 2024 budget that includes a 7 percent increase in core funding for the state鈥檚 public colleges and universities.

Sodexo Brings National Nonprofit Partner, Swipe Out Hunger, to Assist Food Insecure Students at UCM
The 欧美视频鈥檚 dining services provider, Sodexo, is introducing UCM to its partner and national nonprofit, Swipe Out Hunger. In collaboration with the university鈥檚 Campus Cupboard, they have implemented a plan to assist UCM students battling food insecurity. Students can now apply to receive 10 free meal swipes to use at university dining halls.

UCM Magazine, a biannual publication with a print distribution to 25,000 欧美视频 alumni and supporters, is being recognized with a 2022 Best of District award by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). UCM Earns Spot on PRNews 2023 Education A-list for Second Year
Recognizing the quality of the education students receive to help them in career advancement, the 欧美视频鈥檚 Public Relations and Strategic Communications program has been named to the PRNews 2023-A-list. This is the second consecutive year UCM鈥檚 program has received this designation, making it the only such program offered at a public Missouri institution to be recognized, and one of only 50 programs nationwide to earn a spot on the list.

UCM Board Authorizes Revision to Educational Development Program Policy, Golf Cart Lease, Unit Price Contracts
A lease agreement for golf carts, unit price contracts for a variety of on-call services, an agreement for procurement software services, and the establishment of new course fees that cover increased expenses associated with the delivery of specific academic programs were approved by the Board of Governors when it met on campus on Dec. 9. The governing board also approved a change in the Educational Development Program that benefits employee families seeking a UCM education.

UCM Student Earns National FFA Accolades for Agriscience Research Project Involving Beef Steak
While the 欧美视频 encourages undergraduate research and collaboration with faculty members, one UCM student has already gained national recognition for a project that he began months before becoming a university freshman. Spencer Vossler, a third generation family member to attend the university, this fall finished in the top 10 for his entry in the Agriscience Fair that took place as part of the 95th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana.

ARPA Grant Creates Opportunity for UCM to Establish Five Certificate Programs That will Prepare More Individuals for Missouri's Ag Workforce
Today, Governor Mike Parson announced a $2 million grant award for the 欧美视频 from the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (MDHEWD) as part of a larger $20 million funding effort. Nearly two dozen postsecondary institutions were selected to provide high-demand career training for new and underrepresented populations and to address the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on agriculture and supply chains.
