Any benefit provided by the 欧美视频 to its employee is taxable and must be included in the recipient's pay unless the law specifically excludes it. One method for exclusion is for the benefit to be denoted as de
minimis.

The IRS states that, in general, a de minimis benefit is one for which, considering its value and the frequency with which it is provided, it is so small as to make accounting for it unreasonable or impractical.

These may include such items as:

  • Use of university phones for personal local calls
  • Tickets for University events
  • Apparel containing the university logo, that is not required as part of a uniform
  • Retirement, service or other recognition plaques and/or certificates.

UCM defines the de minimis amount for benefits provided by the university as less than $80.00. The final determination of whether a benefit meets de minimis classification is in the authority of the Vice President for Finance and Operations.

This policy is to be applied on a calendar year basis, not fiscal year, so that information aligns with an employee鈥檚 yearly pay.
