KMOS-TV Nominated for Two Regional Emmy Awards

WARRENSBURG, MO - The production 鈥淢issouri Life鈥 was recently recognized by the Mid-America Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. In an announcement made in August, two programs from the third season of the series were nominated for Regional Emmy Awards in the category of Best Magazine Program 鈥 for profiles of Callaway County and Cape Girardeau. The awards will be announced at a ceremony on Sept. 22 in St. Louis.

The KMOS production team responsible for the current season is Roy Millen, Christy Millen and Eric Boedeker. The on-screen host is Meredith Hoenes. 鈥淢issouri Life鈥 is produced in partnership with the publishers of Missouri Life Magazine, Greg Wood and Danita Allen Wood. In 2017 KMOS was nominated for two 鈥淢issouri Life鈥 programs in the same category, and received the Regional Emmy for the program on Silver Dollar City.

The program on Callaway County included visits to the National Churchill Museum in Fulton, the Green Meadow Barn Company, Beks Restaurant, as well as profiles of, and interviews with, local artists and prominent citizens. The Cape Girardeau program included a visit to The Glenn House, and profiles of astronaut Linda Godwin and cartoonist Don Greenwood.

KMOS is presenting broadcasts of seasons 2 and 3 of 鈥淢issouri Life鈥 each Thursday between 7 and 8 p.m. The fourth season airs Thursday nights beginning Oct. 4. Missouri communities profiled include Independence, Clinton, Lebanon, and Ste. Genevieve.

Greg Wood and Danita Allen Wood revived a previous version of the magazine to feature Missouri鈥檚 stunning scenery, its fascinating people, its rich past, and energetic present. The magazine is delivered to 130,000 Missourians and has received many awards from state and international organization, including the International Regional Magazine Association 鈥淢agazine of the Year鈥 Award six times between 2008 and 2017.


All entries will be judged by panels assembled by other NATAS Chapter, comprised of no fewer than seven judges who shall be certified as peers. No more than three judges on a panel may be employed by the same station or company. Judges may not have a conflict of interest, which is described as having a direct involvement in the production of an entry, or having a personal relationship with a member of the production staff of an entry.  KMOS staff members are eligible to join panels to judge entries only from other Regional NATAS Chapters.
